About

“Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.”

- William Morris

My unique designs, made using fabric paint applied with sea sponge, are of natural forms found in and around my garden. Taking inspiration from The Impressionists, I enjoy capturing the effects of movement and light. I embellish these designs with fine brush strokes, machine stitching and hand embroidery from which I then create handcrafted items to use and enjoy in the home.

I back my cushions and draught excluders with carefully chosen fabric to enhance my designs. I also use herbs, which I grow and dry, in smaller cushions and pouches. Lavender and Chamomile are particular favourites as they are known for helping to induce relaxation and reduce anxiety and stress.

Arts and Crafts have always played an important role in my life. Training as a Fine Art Photographer at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge introduced me to, and enabled me to study firsthand, works by many of the world’s most famous artists. Having gained a Fellowship with the Royal Photographic Society, photography will always play a key role in my creative process.

Since then I have studied for a BA Hons in Art History which has furthered my knowledge of the Arts and helped to inform my textile work.
